charity: water was born after Scott Harrison left his opulent, empty life as a Manhattan party promoter for a world changing experience in West Africa. Aboard The Mercy Ship, a floating hospital serving the world's poorest communities, he awoke to vast and dire need. He could help. So he did. He began by giving up his birthday and asking for donations to give clean water to Africa. Projects got bigger and so did budgets. Viktoria Harrison was brought on in the organization's infancy to build a fresh, compelling brand for charity: water. That she did. She designs everything from national advertising campaigns to multi-million dollar grossing events. She keeps it simple, because the mission is simple: give every person on the planet clean drinking water. Three years later, charity: water has grown into a respected leader in the non-profit world with over 2,300 water projected completed in 16 countries.
